Spotted on MIT’s campus last Thursday: the Aloft a-go-go airstream transformed into a one-of-a-kind flying toaster! Complete with flapping wings, toast popping out of its top and giant Wonderbread leading the way, the airstream’s new look, inspired by the iconic flying toaster screensaver, was created by the MIT Hackers. Nearby students enjoyed Aloft-branded toast as they snapped pics and laughed about the unusual campus sight.
The A-go-go airstream was originally driven across the country and used to introduce the Aloft brand to the world. Once the airstream tour was over and we had hotels open all over, we donated it to the MIT Hackers and told them to be creative. That’s how the flying toaster was born.
Weren’t around at MIT to see the flying toaster? Check out some pictures below, and some before and after shots of the airstream! You can also view a video of the stunt here.
