New Orleans is always amazing. I was excited to go there for the Jazz and Heritage festival yet I must admit I was a bit concerned having not been there since the hurricane. I had a great time. The city is doing well for the most part. They could still use some help in areas but the spirit of the people is stronger than ever. The festival had a great vibe and was really laid back. The Jazz fest. is in a horse arena, it is huge. They have many stages spread all over the place. I enjoyed just walking around. They also have tons of great food venues. If you want any Jazz Festival souvenirs, get them at the festival. You will not be able to buy them anywhere else.
A trip to New Orleans wouldn't be complete without a trip to Bourbon Street. I must admit, I like Bourbon Street much better during Jazz Fest than during Marti Gras. The vibe is a lot more laid back yet there are still a lot of people looking to have fun. You must go to Pat O'Brien's Bar and wait in line to go to the piano bar. It is well worth it and hard to leave. They have doling pianos and everyone sings along. It's a lot of fun.
